The
Center for Lifestyle Medicine conducts
research into diverse aspects of how daily
lifestyle habits and actions impact on
both short and long term health and quality
of life. The following areas have
been particular areas of interest for CLM
at UCF researchers:
- Reduction in risk for coronary heart
disease (CHD)
- Proper nutrition
- Regular physical activity
- Weight management
- Joint health
- Diabetes
- The metabolic syndrome
A variety of state-of-the-art equipment
and methodologies are available for researchers
to explore these and other research related
issues in Lifestyle Medicine.
Research at the Center for lifestyle medicine
is collaborative, blending the talents
of physicians, exercise physiologists,
nutritionists, behaviorists, experts in
computer science and epidemiologists and
scientists in other related fields. The
full array of experts and facilities of
a major research based university at the
University of Central Florida is available
for collaboration with researchers at the
Center for lifestyle medicine.
In the last two years researchers affiliated
with the CLM at UCF have presented more
than 50 abstracts and papers at national and international
scientific and medical meetings.
