Greetings
from the Chairman
Welcome to the Center for Lifestyle Medicine
at the University of Central Florida.
The faculty and staff at the CLM at UCF are
committed to becoming the leading source of research
and education in the areas of how daily lifestyle
habits and actions impact on both short and long
term health and quality of life. Researchers
affiliated with the CLM at UCF defined the field
of lifestyle medicine and continue to lead it
through state-of-the-art research and educational
offerings.
There is no longer any serious question that
such issues as level of physical activity, nutritional
choices and whether or not an individual maintains
proper body weight exert a profound impact both
on the likelihood that individuals will develop
disease and also how effective treatments will
be for a variety of diseases and conditions.
The Center for Lifestyle Medicine at the University
of Central Florida provides a unique opportunity
for individuals to collaborate across disciplines
at a major research university to solve some
of the greatest problems facing healthcare in
the United States and other industrialized countries
in the 21st century.
CLM at UCF is looking for faculty, staff and
students who share our vision and passion for
changing the future of American healthcare. I
hope you enjoy visiting our website and I encourage
you to learn more about our offerings.
Sincerely,
James M. Rippe, M.D.
