Dr.
James Rippe is a graduate of Harvard
College and Harvard Medical School
with post graduate training at Massachusetts
General Hospital. He is currently
the Founder and Director of the Rippe
Lifestyle Institute and Professor, Burnett
School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine at
the University of Central Florida
and Associate Professor of Medicine
(Cardiology) at Tufts University
School of Medicine.
Dr. Rippe is founder and director of the Rippe Health Evaluation. The Rippe Health Evaluation is a series of comprehensive health assessments for high performance individuals conducted at the state-of-the-art facility in Celebration, Florida.
Dr. Rippe has written
or edited 36 books including 18 for healthcare
professionals and 18 for the general
public. He edits the only comprehensive
text for healthcare professionals
in lifestyle medicine (Lifestyle
Medicine, Blackwell Science, 1999)
and co-edits the major ICU text in
the United States (Irwin and Rippe’s
Intensive Care Medicine, Lippincott,
Williams and Wilkens, 5th ed., 2003).
He has contributed over 250 academic
publications in lifestyle medicine,
cardiology and related disciplines.
